Samsung Galaxy Alpha launched in India

Samsung on Saturday launched the new Galaxy Alpha, first smartphone with an unique metal frame and 6.7mm slim body in India at a press event in New Delhi.

Originally unveiled in mid-August, the Galaxy Alpha is Samsung’s first smartphone to sport a metal frame. The smartphone packs with a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display, Exynos 5 Octa core processor (1.8GHz Quad + 1.3GHz Quad) , 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and 4G LTE support. The Alpha runs on Android 4.4 and includes Samsung’s usual software enhancements like Ultra-Power saving mode, S Health, Private mode, Download Booster, Quick Connect and more.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. In addition, the Galaxy Alpha also has a fingerprint scanner, NFC connectivity, heart-rate monitor and smooth finished removable cover.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be available in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Scuba Blue colors and is priced at Rs. 39,990 in India. It will be available for buy in the first week of October. Samsung has tied up with Airtel to offer 5 GB of 4G data for two months in 4G circles and the Airtel users in 3G circles will get 2GB of free data for two months.
